Shadow is a person-to-person service marketplace. It is not a general classifieds site, a retail store, or an unrestricted payments channel. You may only use Shadow for lawful, genuine service requests and offers that fit the platform's purpose.
If a request, offer, message, account, or payment activity creates legal, safety, fraud, or operational risk, Shadow may remove the content, pause the transaction, restrict the account, or report the matter to the relevant authorities.
1. Core Rule
You must not use Shadow to request, offer, arrange, promote, or facilitate:
- anything illegal;
- anything unsafe or exploitative;
- anything that requires a licence, permit, or regulatory approval that you do not hold;
- anything designed to bypass Shadow's payment, safety, trust, moderation, or reporting systems; or
- anything that exposes other users or Shadow to unreasonable fraud, legal, reputational, or operational risk.
2. Prohibited Categories
Illegal and harmful activity
- Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, precursor chemicals, or unlawful handling of prescription medicines.
- Sexual services, escorting, commercial dating arrangements, or sexually exploitative conduct.
- Human trafficking, forced labour, or any exploitative arrangement.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or instructions for making them.
- Violence, intimidation, stalking, doxxing, harassment, blackmail, or debt collection by threat.
- Fraud, impersonation, identity misuse, forgery, falsified documents, or fabricated evidence.
Financial and payment abuse
- Unlicensed money lending, remittance, payment collection, money mule activity, or currency exchange.
- Cash-out services, card testing, chargeback abuse, or transactions intended to disguise the real purpose of a payment.
- Using Shadow as a pass-through to move money where there is no genuine underlying service request.
- Crypto brokerage, token sales, or similar high-risk financial activity unless Shadow expressly enables and approves it in writing.
Regulated or licensed work without authority
- Legal, medical, nursing, psychological, financial, tax, engineering, electrical, plumbing, pest control, transport, or similar regulated work where the provider lacks the required qualifications, permit, or licence.
- Immigration or government filing services where the provider is not authorised to perform them.
Counterfeit, infringement, and deception
- Counterfeit goods, pirated software or media, unauthorized use of brands, copyrighted works, or other third-party rights.
- Academic cheating, exam impersonation, ghost submissions, or similar dishonest services.
- Fake reviews, fake requests, fake complaints, or manufactured account activity.
Unsafe goods and environments
- Hazardous waste, biohazards, dangerous chemicals, wildlife trafficking, or prohibited animal products.
- Requests that require specialised safety controls, machinery, confined-space work, work-at-height certification, or other risk controls that the provider does not have.
3. Platform Abuse
- You must not scrape, crawl, probe, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform.
- You must not create multiple accounts to evade restrictions or manipulate marketplace outcomes.
- You must not post spam, duplicate listings, bait listings, or fake urgency.
- You must not move a Shadow-originated engagement off-platform in order to avoid fees, moderation, or dispute handling.
- You must not misuse reporting, review, refund, or verification systems.
- You must not upload malware, harmful code, or deceptive links.
- You must not use bots or automation without Shadow's written approval.
4. Shadow's Discretion
Shadow may decide that a request or account is not suitable for the platform even if it is not listed above. That includes activity that is technically lawful but creates disproportionate safety, fraud, regulatory, or operational risk for Shadow's current operating model.
5. Reporting
If you see suspected abuse, report it through the app or contact support@welcomeshadow.com.
